February 2026 Meeting

  • 77 Bracken Street Bracken Ridge, QLD, 4017 Australia (map)

Thursday 12 February at our meeting we will be having Peter Thurn, ANBC Hall of Fame Inductee, National Judge and Very Experienced Breeder, on zoom to talk to us and answer the question,

"What is the best process of mating a very good BEST cock bird (normal or cinnamon or opaline) with several hens of similar varieties during the breeding season with the goal of producing half siblings for future breeding.

AND

Is there any benefit from a possible future blood line in taking this approach.

The end goal would be to replicate the perceived qualities in the original cock bird so as to hopefully continue to produce similar or better birds than the original cock bird in future years."
